My name is Bence Szokolay, and I help professionals and companies succeed with their software implementation projects.
As a digitalization consultant, I have driven digital transformation initiatives for over 13 companies, successfully managing 35+ highly complex projects. These efforts mainly focused on modernizing legacy systems (brownfield reengineering), deploying new software solutions (greenfield implementation), and integrating centralized platforms into established IT landscapes, enhancing efficiency and fostering innovation.
In my eyes, an implementation project is a symphony concert: a collaboration between a client and a vendor based on established processes, while tasks are accomplished at the right time so that end-users listen to charming beats. Well, in reality, this is often not the case, and software implementation projects face a high risk of failure…
For my master’s thesis, I researched the “barriers and pitfalls in ERP software implementation projects”, and since then, I have not left this field, as I find it engaging and fascinating.
Over the years, I specialized in this domain by actively working at both client- and vendor companies (multinational and SME), by gaining project management certificates, and by experiential learning. I pursued implementation projects of enterprise resource planning (ERP), project management, transportation management, commodity trading systems, etc. Having designed and delivered governance models that have transformed how companies implemented software, these companies successfully maximized their software investments. Practicing agile, hybrid, and waterfall ways of working enabled me to select and tailor the most effective tools and techniques from these methodologies.
My mission is to empower professionals and companies with the knowledge they need to succeed. I am proudly offering you a well-researched and structured knowledge base so that you can transform your mindset, equip yourself with necessary insider knowledge, and get ready for all challenges along this journey!
